The EASA Southeast Chapter Board of Directors recently met to discuss chapter business and a lot of discussion was how to navigate during the Coronavirus Pandemic. As you are aware, we had to cancel the 2020 conference.
During the meeting it was decided that while there are too many unknowns to plan a conference for 2021 there may be ways we can provide value to the members in the interim. Currently the board and state directors are working on the possibility of having technical training offerings in each state this spring. These meetings would be limited in size and could possibly accommodate meeting size restrictions and offer proper distancing and other safeguards to keep participants safe. Also, by having them in each state, it makes them more accessible and avoids air travel. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
Generally, the conference has been organized with a technical training component and a managerial component. Since the technical component may be provided as described above, the board is considering a managerial component for the fall of next year.
The pandemic has certainly impacted us all, and we hope this update finds you all safe and doing well. While we may have to change how we do things, we still want to provide value to the members.
Stay safe and hope to see you again soon.
